Pond snakes
Pond hoses are used to connect your pond equipment. The most common application is connecting the pond pump to the pond filter . You can also use a pond hose to connect your UV filter, skimmer, or plant filter. Always check carefully which diameter hose can be connected to your pond equipment. We always recommend choosing the thickest one, as this provides the most water flow. You can always install a ball valve between the hose to regulate the water flow. There are several standard sizes of pond hoses available:
- pond hose 13 mm
- pond hose 19/20 mm
- pond hose 32 mm
- pond hose 38/40 mm
- pond hose 50 mm

Now you're probably wondering why there's a slash next to the 19/20 mm and 38/40 mm. This is because different suppliers use slightly different names. For example, if the pond equipment indicates that a 19 mm pond hose should be connected, both the 19 and 20 mm pond hoses will fit, and vice versa. The same applies to the 38 mm and 40 mm hoses. If the pond equipment indicates that a 40 mm pond hose should be connected, both the 38 and 40 mm pond hoses will fit, and vice versa. The Oase brand, for example, prefers the names 20 mm and 40 mm. Besides the diameter, you can also choose the length of the pond hose, but fortunately, this isn't as complicated as the thickness. To connect the hoses, you sometimes also need hose connectors .
