Installing a pond trough/preformed pond? Tips!
- Choosing the right location for your pond is crucial. Make sure the pond isn't under trees. Falling leaves can have negative consequences for your pond, as they can pollute the water. Also, consider how far the pond will be from your house. If you place the pond at the back of your garden, a small pond won't be visible from your house.
- Make sure your pond is well protected .
- Keep the sun in mind. The pond should receive 6 hours of sun per day in summer.

You'll need access to everything once you're using your pond, so when you take measurements in your garden, also determine the space you need to walk around the pond. Advantages of a pond tub

When digging the pond, make sure you dig at least 10 cm wider than the pond, both in width and depth. After digging, check the dimensions carefully and rake if necessary.
Place pond tray
Now it's time to place the pond. Before doing so, fill the bottom of the various pond zones with 10 cm of fine sand. When placing the pond in the excavated hole, it's important that the edges are horizontal. Measure this with a spirit level. If you fill the pond 1/3 full with water, it will no longer slip. The gaps in between should now be filled with sand. During this phase, be sure to check that your pond is still horizontal using the spirit level.
It's best to have the electricity connected by an electrician. The power supply must be equipped with a suitable earth leakage circuit breaker. Then the pond pump and external filter can be installed. Connect the external filter with the pressure hose. The pump is placed in a deep part of the pond. From the external filter, clean filtered water is pumped back into the pond. Aquatic plants are essential, of course. There are many different types of aquatic plants. Pay close attention to which one is suitable for which purpose: for deep or near the edge. Also use a planter for plants that can spread. This will limit their spread.
