Velda Clear Line UV-C 55 Watt
Floating algae can cause the water in a pond to turn green, especially in young ponds with nutrient-rich water. This leads to stagnation in the growth of oxygen-producing plants, which is very annoying. Fortunately, there is a permanent solution for green and cloudy pond water: the UV-C filter. This filter kills many harmful organisms, including algae, by means of UV-C light. The UV-C part of the light spectrum damages the DNA of microorganisms, preventing them from multiplying. The filter works by passing the pond water past a lamp that emits ultraviolet light. This sterilizes the water, as it were, and kills floating algae, germs, and fungi. This ensures crystal clear water and a healthy pond environment for fish and plants. It is advisable to keep the UV-C filter running continuously during the pond season. In winter, the device must be removed from the pond due to the risk of freezing and stored dry and frost-free.
