Cleaning the pond? Here are some handy tools!

pond cleaning

Cleaning the pond

Every month during the pond season, there are things that need cleaning in and around the pond. To make cleaning and maintaining your pond as easy as possible and to ensure that it takes as little time as possible, you'll find all sorts of handy tools in our webshop to help you properly clean and maintain your pond. We'll discuss some of these tools below.

Scoop nets very useful for cleaning the pond

A dip net is one of the most commonly used tools for cleaning a pond. There are dip nets with round and square bottoms. A dip net with a round bottom is suitable for releasing fish, while a dip net with a square bottom is suitable for scooping leaves and other debris from the pond. Its long handle allows you to reach everywhere, and it's often telescopic, making it easy to store.

Pond brush for the edges

Pond edges often become dirty over time, as algae and other debris accumulate. This naturally creates an untidy impression, and we certainly don't want that! The Vela Pond Brush is specifically designed for these dirty edges. This brush is perfect for cleaning the edges.

Anti-slip agent

Slip often forms on the bottom of the pond. Oase Sedifree is a product that breaks down this slip. The small granules sink to the bottom and end up in the sludge. They oxidize the sludge, and then the sludge layer is quickly broken down by special bacteria. It's an excellent maintenance product that provides gentle cleaning, meaning you'll need to change water less often.
